Getting started

How to begin ABA in Frederick County

For a child under 3, you can request a free evaluation through your local Infants and Toddlers Program, Maryland's Early Intervention system (there's one in every county and Baltimore City). No autism diagnosis is needed to start, and the statewide line is 1-800-535-0182. Around age 3, services can move to Frederick County Public Schools through Child Find and an IEP — or, if your child is found eligible for preschool special education, Maryland's Extended IFSP option lets you choose to stay with the Infants and Toddlers Program a little longer. Whatever your child's age, we verify your insurance or Medicaid benefits up front and handle the prior-authorization paperwork for you — Maryland's plan rules and Medicaid each have their own age limits, and we'll check yours before anything starts.

Not sure where your family fits, or which system to start with? Our guide to getting started with ABA in Maryland walks through Infants and Toddlers, insurance, Medicaid, and choosing a provider — or just reach out and we'll point you in the right direction.
