Southern Maryland covers a lot of ground — Charles, St. Mary's and Calvert counties, from Waldorf's busy suburbs to the Patuxent and Potomac shores — and families here can wait a long time or drive a long way for autism services. We don't make you do either: there's no waitlist in Maryland, and our therapists come to your home, whether that's in St. Charles, Leonardtown, Lexington Park near Pax River, or Prince Frederick.

Getting started

How to begin ABA in Southern Maryland

For a child under 3, you can request a free evaluation through your local Infants and Toddlers Program, Maryland's Early Intervention system (there's one in every county and Baltimore City). No autism diagnosis is needed to start, and the statewide line is 1-800-535-0182. Charles, St. Mary's and Calvert each have their own county Infants and Toddlers Program and their own school system. Around age 3, services can move to Charles County Public Schools, St. Mary's County Public Schools or Calvert County Public Schools through Child Find and an IEP — or, if your child is found eligible for preschool special education, Maryland's Extended IFSP option lets you choose to stay with the Infants and Toddlers Program a little longer. Whatever your child's age, we verify your insurance or Medicaid benefits up front and handle the prior-authorization paperwork for you — Maryland's plan rules and Medicaid each have their own age limits, and we'll check yours before anything starts.

ABA therapy in Southern Maryland — common questions

Which Southern Maryland counties do you serve? +

All three: Charles County (Waldorf, St. Charles, La Plata, Indian Head), St. Mary's County (Lexington Park, California, Leonardtown) and Calvert County (Prince Frederick, Huntingtown, Lusby, Solomons). Our therapists come to your home.

We're a Navy family near Pax River. Can you help? +

We'd be glad to talk. TRICARE covers ABA through its Autism Care Demonstration, which has its own provider rules, so send us your coverage details and we'll tell you honestly whether we can be your provider. We also accept Maryland Medicaid and private insurance.

Is there a waitlist in Southern Maryland? +

No. We have no waitlist anywhere in Maryland. After a free consultation and a coverage check, a behavior analyst assesses your child and we match you with a therapist; the main timing factor is insurance or Medicaid authorization, which we handle for you.
